Carrier Outreach Scripts — Cold Start
_No warm list. Everything here is $0. Read the group rules before posting — no spam, or you get banned and it's worse than useless._
The offer (use everywhere)
8% of gross per load, from the very first load. No upfront fees, no sign-up fees, no lock-in — 14-day notice to walk away. Full service: I find the loads, negotiate the rate, handle all paperwork, set up your factoring + fuel card, track every settlement. You just drive.
Why it converts: the carrier only ever pays on loads actually booked — no loads, no pay. They risk nothing, and you get paid from day one. (Free-week trial rejected 2026-10-29 — Cam needs income immediately.)
Where to hunt (free)
- Facebook groups — owner-operator groups, "dispatch needed / truck available" groups, equipment-specific groups (flatbed, reefer, hotshot). Search "[equipment] owner operator" and "truck dispatch". Daily presence: answer questions, post value, then post the offer 2–3x/week max per group.
- Posted trucks — carriers posting "truck available in [city]" in groups are raising their hand. DM them within the hour.
- Referrals — every signed carrier gets asked: "know another owner-operator who hates load boards?" Offer them a cut or a free detail — whatever, just ask.
- TruckingDispatchService.com — platform built to connect owner-operators and dispatchers. List your services free; carriers post their trucks looking for help. Use the profile as your landing page link in groups and DMs.
- FMCSA SAFER carrier search (safer.fmcsa.dot.gov) — look up carriers by state, filter by size. Gives you MC numbers and company names; cross-reference for phone numbers and cold-call the small fleets. Slow, but it's a free carrier list that never runs out.
- TruckersReport forums — owner-operator section; help first, pitch in signature/profile only.
Facebook group post (template)
Owner-operators — dispatcher here. 8% per load, and you only pay on loads I actually book you.
I find the loads, negotiate the rate, handle the rate cons and paperwork, and get your factoring + fuel card set up. You drive, I run the office.
No upfront fees, no sign-up fees, no lock-in — 14-day notice to walk away. If I can't keep you loaded at your rate floor, you owe nothing and walk.
DM me your equipment type and where your truck sits right now.

DM script (replying to "truck available" posts)
Hey [name], saw your truck posted in [city] — I'm a dispatcher working with owner-operators. 8% per load, and you only pay on loads I actually book you: find loads, negotiate rates, all paperwork, factoring + fuel card setup.
No upfront anything, no lock-in. Want me to find you something for [tomorrow/Monday]? What's the equipment?
Intro call — qualifying questions (Cam)
Ask before promising anything:
- MC/DOT active? (You'll verify on SAFER after.)
- Insurance current — liability + cargo?
- Equipment + trailer specs?
- Where's the truck right now, and where do you want to run?
- Rate floor per mile — what won't you touch?
- Factoring already set up? Fuel card?
- Home-time rules?
- Ever worked with a dispatcher before — what went wrong?
If they can't answer 1–3 clearly, slow down. Verify everything before booking their first load.
Red flags — walk away
- Wants you to "find the load and take a cut off the top" without a carrier agreement = brokering without authority. Never.
- No active MC/DOT or lapsed insurance — you can't fix this for them.
- Asks YOU to pay anything upfront (for "access" to their truck, etc.) — scam.
- Double-brokering hints ("just put my MC on it") — instant no.
- You never charge carriers sign-up or upfront fees either — that's the scammer's marker, don't touch it.
Follow-up cadence
- DM sent → no reply in 48h → one bump, then drop it.
- Intro call done → send agreement + checklist within 24h (Quanta preps it).
- Signed → onboarding checklist starts same day; first load within 48h if the truck is ready.
- Track every lead: name, equipment, location, status, last contact. Quanta keeps the sheet.
Shipper outreach (direct freight — the long game)
Target: local shippers with repeat lanes — produce packers, building material suppliers, manufacturers, distributors. South Florida first.
Cold call / email opener:
"Hi, I'm Cam with Southeast Freight Dispatch. I represent a small group of
carriers running [lane, e.g. South Florida to Texas] every week. We're looking
for one more consistent shipper on that lane — who handles your outbound freight?"
The pitch (NOT a broker pitch):
- A dedicated truck on their lane, same driver where possible.
- One point of contact (you), full visibility, check calls without being asked.
- We run the carrier's operation — we're their team, not a middleman taking a spread.
Qualify:
- What lanes, what weekly volume?
- What's your biggest frustration right now — late trucks, rate volatility, no-shows?
- Who decides? When does your current arrangement come up for review?
